Clip to ScrapBook
i, too, use my book points to purchase books for my students. (i do this every month of the year to stretch it out and make sure i get books of all interests and reading levels.) then i select the "perfect" book for each
child--this takes way more time than i'd like to admit, but it makes it more meaningful, and there is less of a chance of the kids swapping. (i don't put their name in it just in case they would like to swap, and i don' t sign it because when i see those books signed by teachers at the second-hand store, it's depressing--don't want to see my name!)

i also create bookmarks in
PrintShop that have the kids' name in fancy print and then some quote (don't remember, have to look at school--something like, "reading is a present you give yourself"....then i laminate them twice to make them sturdier.

one year i gave my class the "present" of a movie--i put a little note in an envelope and opened it up and allowed them to watch a movie at a later date...that was before the big push of testing and using every available minute to teach to the test....

but you could give them a "game" afternoon and make all the games content-related.

or you could give them 10 extra minutes of recess and some hot cocoa. (since it's a little late to start purchasing books with points, and you did ask for inexpensive gifts)
you could also give each of them a pass to sit by a friend for the whole day; they could use it whenever they choose. or a "get out of homework free" card that they could cash in in the future. those are free for you!
