fourth too
By Brooke

Clip to ScrapBook
My fourth graders love to ask questions too. I think they could spend the entire school day just asking questions if that was allowed. I manage it differently and it works for me. I give them an unlimited time to ask questions
when I say, "Does anyone have questions." In the beginning of the year that Q and A period was probably 10-15 minutes long and worth every second. I needed to train them to ask questions only when I asked them too--after a lesson, after a difficult math problem, after they read a test and before they began. As the weeks pass I'd see hands up ready with questions and I'd tell
them that I've already anticipated their questions so if they listen it may get answered. This morning I started, "Does anyone have any question?" Only six students had one and everyone was served.
