make-up work By teacher2

Does your school have a policy? My school has a policy that a student has one day for every day they have an excused absence to make up missed work, and a reasonable period of time before having to take a test. Unexcused absences are another story. The teacher does not have to allow make-up work. I usually try to work with the child to get caught up, because it was the parents, not the child that made other arrrangements. When I say I work with them, I also ask the parents to help them get caught up. Some ask for work in advance of an anticipated absence, so the kids can take at least some of it with them., and they aren't quite so far behind when they return. Best Wishes.
