retest
By teacher2

Clip to ScrapBook
Like one of the previous posters I will retest if most of the class did very poorly. I teach 2nd grade. I just graded an english test that most of my class will be taking over after we go back over the material. The main
reason I am willing to do this is because the content covered is foundational for the rest of the year. If the students don't get it now they will continue to struggle in this area all year long. It is a pain to do retests, and I don't unless I absolutely have to. The main point is for the students to learn the material, and a test should show if they have or not. If most have not, then
it needs to be retaught, explained, etc. and retested for understanding. I hate the idea of teaching only to tests so that my class and the school will look good. I want my students to do well on the tests, but more importantly, I want them to remeber the material long after the test has passed. I want real learning to have taken place. This is my own class policy.:s)
