Student teachers

I enjoy having student teachers. I don't have as many as I once did because schools have become so busy. I have one starting in three weeks for a 4 week placement. I also have a son who is just finishing 2nd year as a student
teacher. I think there are many positives. I often work one on one with one of my weaker students while they are taking a lesson so it gives me that extra time to help. Some student teachers put so much effort into their lesson planning and present some interesting and varied ideas and games etc. The children get use to dealing with other adults in the room. It makes me as a teacher

really think about what I am doing and how I present things. My son has just student taught in the same year level as me at another school and it was great for the two of use to plan things and organize equipment. I then used these ideas in my room. Mind you I have also had some very interesting ones who I couldn't wait to go this was mainly because of attitude eg I know everything. Luckily I have met a lot more of the other type who I have enjoyed having.:p
