Clip to ScrapBook
Well, the jury is still out as far as I'm concern regarding SRA Reading. I have been using it in my resource room since last Nov. I haven't been formally trained (keep that in mind). I am going to a conference later this
month on direct instruction.

Which particular SRA program are you using? I use Reading Mastery I & II and the Corrective Reading series. Basically, these programs are scripted to teach decoding skills. The strategies you mentioned are not a part of the programs. However, there is a comphrension book that does follow decoding B2 of the Corrective Reading series. I have not
seen it. I have a terrible time with scripts.

If you are used to teaching students to make connections, infer, etc. you might have a difficult time with SRA. I am. But I am trying to be open minded. SRA isn't your only reading time, is it!?????????? I HOPE not.
