pencils
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
I have always used the skinny pencils with my kids. For those who have a lot of difficulty I will allow them to use a pencil grip.

It takes time, but I find by the end of September most can use the pencils fine. I find my kids tend to speed up after Christmas so often their writing becomes messier because they are in a hurry to get things done. I make my kids do a lot of corrections if I can't read their work or their e's look like c's. This tends to correct the messiness quickly.

I've never used fat crayons, I rarely see them sold in stores and our kids bring all their own supplies for first grade.
