I tried this for the first time last year and the kids loved it. I made a tape of "Arthur's Tooth." I put it in an Arthur backpack with the book,an Arthur plush toy, a toothbrush from the 99c Only Store, and a chart to keep track of their brushing habits for 2 weeks.Each child got to choose what color toothbrush he wanted to keep. At home,the students had to listen to the tape, practice reading the book to Arthur and fill out and return the completed chart.Although I modeled how they should brush, this year I want to see if I can find a dentist in the neighborhood who will speak to the class about proper brushing techniques.
