First Day Activities

At the beginning of every school year in my first grade class, I hand out "activity books" for each student. These are coloring books that I find for $ .50 during the year. Whenever the kids don't have something to do, I ask them to pull out their activity books. They LOVE these, coloring away to their heart's content. It keeps them busy and focused as we establish routines.
