fifth grade buddies

We also are right next door to a fifth grade that we buddied with. We got together once a week for about 1/2 hour. We did a ton of different things. Sometimes we had the fifth graders read to the first graders. Sometimes we had the first graders read their grade level books to their fifth grade buddies. When we were studying a particularly difficult concept in math (such as telling time) I would prepare a worksheet and have the fifth graders help their buddy through it. Today is our last buddy opportunity. We're having a "space party" because our class has been studying space and planets. We're going to make "space food" and have a group quiz about space. Having buddies has been great fun and we'll do it again next year.
