Clip to ScrapBook
My parish uses Johnny Can Spell in K-3. I love Johnny Can Spell. The phonograms give the children a powerful tool to read and write independently, and it also gives them self-confidence as they master more and more phonograms. It can be extremely repetitive and grow mundane, so you have to get a little creative. Sometimes we abandon paper and pencil and use dry kool-aid, chocolate syrup, or shaving cream to write in with our fingers when we practice our phonograms and spelling. I like JCS, I think it is very rewarding, and I would love to keep in touch with you, encourage you, and help you any way I can along the way. Good Luck!
