How much or how little you do is also up to you. You know your kids and you know your resources. Relay Races are always good. You can premeasure and mark off start and finish.
Bubble blowing???? Can get cheap bubble stuff at Dollar Tree and just let them blow bubbles with different things, pipecleaners or any open objects. Hula hoops....give each child a hulahoop and they "hula'.winner is last child with hoop still going. When you do this with large groups you could designate certain children to represent each class in certain activities, just be sure that each child gets to be a rep. Softball games...cheap, safe bats and balls available in places like Dollar Tree. Make arrangements with your school cafeteria and let the kids eat outdoors??? Or have some parents come and grill hotdogs for the kids . Make homemade icecream..either with a cooler or use the recipes available and let pairs of children toss ziplock bags full of ice and ingredients and made their own. Balloon toss, balloons full of water, toss back and forth, see which pair keeps it going longest. Dropped balloons ,of course, burst and splatter the kids. Also could go in teams, single bed sheets or tablecloths of same size. Students hold onto the outer edges and try to keep throwing a water balloon up into the air and catch it. Team that keeps it going longest is winner. You are limited only by your imagination! Do lots of silly stuff.Be sure kids wear playclothes and running shoes. Maybe have them bring quilts or beach towels to sit on the ground. Have I written too much???? I just got carried away! I was thinking of all the different field days and the fun the kids had. Not a single day was the same. Have fun, be creative!!!
