end of the year activity

Clip to ScrapBook
Within the last few years, we requested that our parent group buy a blank book for each student. The books we purchase have 28 pages in them. During the last 26 days of school we make an alphabet book of memories. The
students stencil in a letter a day, starting with a. They choose a word to enter for the letter such as a is for alphabet or a is for art, etc. Then they illustrate a page a day. By the time we get to z, it is the last day of school. The kids have loved this project and it creates a wonderful memory of their first grade year. This year, the second grade classes decided to undertake
this project also. We get a lot of positive comments from parents and other teachers. This year, we have taught the kids how to use the word processor in the computer lab and they typed the words for each of their pages!!!
