money song...
By ct teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
I recently started money and I found a great song that we sing..the kids LOVE it and it helps them remember...
It is versed to the farmer in the dell...
A penny's worth one
A nickel's worth five,
A dimes worth ten,
and a quarter twenty-five..

They hold up their fingers when we sing..
(two and five for twenty five)and they love it..
It only takes about 30 seconds..and what I found happened..is that students who were having trouble with work would start singing the song to themselves and then go..oh yeah...a dimes worth ten..and so on...
I agree it should be done all year to be best learned..but this helps too...
