Writing is Easy!
By Amanda

Clip to ScrapBook
I have found that my kindergarten kids LOVE writing. From day one we start an alphabet chant on our alphabet poster. A, apple, sound three times. We do this every day as part of our calendar routine. We also do a daily
news each morning and send it home for kids to circle letters, look for words, etc. Mary said, "I love cats." This is how we do interactive writing. I do monthly journals with 10 pages behind each cover. In September they just draw on blank white paper. And also in October. But in October I ask for beginning sounds. Eventually in November I add lines and at the end they are writing
on first grade paper. We strech our words like bubble gum. I actually bring in bubble gum and let them pull it out and sound out words. They always do it and are already writing words. It works great! I swear by the bubble gum!!!
