assessment
By Marion

Clip to ScrapBook
I keep a portfolio for each of my students on their work and skills. I test them casually on their numbers and letters during circle time and when we do the calendar and keep notes on their skills of the alphabet and numbers. I keep notes on who can cut, write their name, etc. and use this for their report cards. Closer to report cards, I save work for assessment. In using fingerplays and songs, I can see who knows their numbers, alphabet, etc. during circle time and I just keep notes. I have a song where the children identify letters, numbers, color words, sight words, and I keep notes on their responses as we proceed each day.
