acorns and nuts
By Linda

Clip to ScrapBook
There are so many ways to use acorns and nuts in math lessons. I teach pre-k and here are some of the things we do:
sorting, classifying, weighing, compare/contrast, counting one-to-one correspondence, adding and subtracting using the nuts as concrete manipulatives (for your K children), using them for counting with file folder games that I've made, graphing the different types of nuts, using them in art projects. These are all the ways we use acorns and nuts in my classroom. Hope this helps.
