Johnny Appleseed

Hi DD,
I just did a whole theme this week on apples. My kindergarten class was learning the letter A so I just tied in the letter A. We have been doing arts and crafts with apples. Tomorrow we are going to try making| applesauce. This is my first year so I am trying to be adventurous. We are making a graph of favorite kind of apples. I do realize next Wednesday is Johnny Appleseed's birthday. I brought a book called Johnny Appleseed in Barnes and Nobles on Monday. I unfortunately do not know the author but I found it next to the halloween books. It is a hard cover picture book. I am going to read | |
that to them and also we are going to make hats with black construction paper. I will be put a cut out of an apple on the front up in the top along with a feather. I might even have songs or fingerplays on him. That is what I am doing with my class and I also found a coloring sheet for them to do when they unpack in the morning and wait for the whole class to get there. I hope this is helpful. If I find anything, I will let you know
