Every Day Counts
By Jackie

Clip to ScrapBook
Our school uses the Every Day Counts program for calendar math. This program offers many opportunities for counting by fives and tens, using concrete objects: a paper clip collection, counting squares and the daily depositor keep track of school days. I've added a blank hundreds chart where we fill in one number for each school day, then practice skip counting up to the total. I also use a tally sheet, especially good for counting by fives.

Using money is another method we will use later in the year.

Hope you find some of this helpful!
