Some ideas
By Barb

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there,

I teach special ed so we use some of these center ideas for practice. Just a few ideas:
-sort coins
-sort bingo chips (colors) OR...you can get small stickers with pictures or shapes on them, stick them
to the chips, and have them sort that way
-there are lots of instructional compaines that have sorting frogs, animals, clowns, bears, etc. I have a great set that has a bunch of different shapes in different colors, so we can sort by shape OR color. :-)
-sort by size (small, medium, big)
-use notecards to make little cards, put stickers on or draw dots, shapes, etc. they can either
sort by the picture on the card, the number of objects on the card, or the color its written in, etc.
-sort playing cards... you can have them sort by suit (hearts, diamonds, spade, clubs) or by numbers

Hope you can use a few of those ideas!
Barb
