"Jobs for Kindergarteners"
By Sandy

Clip to ScrapBook
This is my sixth year teaching k's and my second year teaching a two-year program for 4 and 5 year-olds. It has been my experience that k's not only enjoy having assigned jobs, but take pride in it. In my class, everyone has a job and some jobs are big enough for two people, i.e. stacking chairs at the end of the day, keeping the puzzle shelf tidy, etc. They keep their jobs for a week and every Monday the jobs are rotated. Some may need reminding a couple of times on the first day, but we have a Jobs Chart for reference. But if you know k's, somebody always knows what everybody else's job is!
Good luck on your first year, I'm sure it'll be very rewarding!
