Guided Reading
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Mary,
While I don't actually have the entire series of books, two Guided groups with a particular level of children is entirely feasible. The purpose of Guided Reading is to allow the children to practice a strategy you've previously taught during a Shared reading or other minilesson (going solo with support). For helpful information on this topic, the book 'Guided Reading' is great. It has the basics in lesson design, sample schedules for a Literacy Block, assessment/evaluation procedures, classroom vignettes so you get a sense of how a lesson should go at Emergent/Early/Fluent levels, plus an extensive list of leveled books to get for use in your children's book baskets. If you need additional info, just post again or email. ;-D
