Buying Big Books
By L.P.

Clip to ScrapBook
I've bought quite a few off e-bay but it seems like lately that other teachers have discovered it too and are driving up the price equal to what Amazon wants for them. Darn! Amazon does carry some but with shipping you
end up paying full price. I was able to find a big book paperback copy of Brown Bear, Brown Bear (a perennial start the year favorite!) through Barnes and Noble's Used and Out of print. It was used but in good shape and cost a fraction of what they want for a hardcover copy of the book (which seems to be the only big book version available any more). Check the inside covers of Scholastic
book club flyers. On the back page they usually have very good prices on selected big books. I bought several when I was student teaching. Hope this will give you a few places to look.
