Chika Ideas
By Kimbery

Clip to ScrapBook
Here is an idea that I use.

I took some putcher paper and paint a LARGE tree, just like in the book. I painted it with tempra paint and then covered with with a gesso type coating that sealed the paint and put a finish
to the painting. You can get it at any art supply store. Then I made individaul letters, again, just like the book. I glued on 26 pieces of 'male' velcro on different locations on the tree. The 'female' piece of velcro is glued on the back of each letter. I pass out a letter or two to each child, and as I read the book they jump up and put their letter on the coconut tree! They love
it . .

As far where to buy BIG BOOKS cheap . . .I have purchased a few at Sam's Club, don't know if you have one in your area, but you can check them out on line at Samsclub.com

Have fun!
Kim
