Have them read or be read to about 15 minutes each night. Parents sign reading logs as proof. Hands on homework is best for this age. Have them bring in objects or pictures related to the theme or letter of the week. They can bring in objects of different shapes, colors, things about dinosaurs, objects that show a pattern, whatever has to do with what youu are teaching.
