Give our little people a break!
By Tina

Clip to ScrapBook
My daughter will be 5 in October. I also have a 2 1/2 year old. They both nap, and are cranky if they don't. Some kids their age don't nap, but most do. I get furious when I think about some guy sitting around some big
table trying to figure out a way to "improve test scores" and making decisions like this. Isn't it bad enough that they are being put in daycare at 6-weeks, raised by strangers, forced into school at 4, expected to read by 5, then criticized for being pregnant at 15? My gosh...can't we just enjoy the small portion of their life that they have to be children? I personally like to look
at the face of a small sleeping child. The worst kid in the class looks like an angel when he's sleeping. Maybe we should just let them out on a school-to-work program in first grade to teach them economics and life skills!
