Word Wall
By MJ in GA

Clip to ScrapBook
I start out the year with the names of the students on the word wall. What could be more meaningful than your own name? Color words are another good place to start. As I teach the letters of the alphabet and their sounds, I use those words that can be made from those letters/sounds, such as mad, bed, cat, dog. You can create word families from these words as well.(cat, bat, fat, mat, hat). Check out your local school supply store. There are many comercial word walls available.
