Open House
By Gayle

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach in a private school. For our first Open House, I have a message board set up for the parents to write out a note of encouragement for their children. I also have big butcher paper children stiing in the chairs of
their live counterparts. The are displayed playing eiith manipulatives, reading books and working on the computer. The parents enjoy trying to figure out which paper likeness belongs to their child. I also display work that the children have done up to that moment.

For the Second Open House, (our registration for the next grade level), I not only display the curriculum, but I also

display samples of the types of reading the children do in the classroom.
Last year, I had a Math Museum shoowing all the ways that numbers are used in everyday life.
