K registration

This is my first year as a K teacher. One thing I did this year was to have next year's kids come to school to visit a few times before screenings were held. This way they had already met me and weren't so scared about the screenings. I had them come one Friday afternoon for an hour one day a month beginning this past Feb. I sent postcards home telling of what they would be doing for that day. I had them for part of the time and had one of the special class teachers had them for the other part. This also helps you find out who they are and what kinds of things they may already know. I am also having them come on the 17th from 8-12 so they get to experience more of what school will really be like next year. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!
