I taught it one year and I used Fairy tales and sight words for Language Arts. Also word families are so important for them. Review of basic phonics skills. I looked at the phonics books and Math books for grade One. Telling Time measurment and money are topics that take a lot of time and are a real plus to have a good grasp on for first grade. Also check and see if there are any old readers for first grade in an old closet to use for content and skills. I now have enough seniority that I coordinate our summer program for grades 1-7 for 3 weeks. E-mail me if I can help in any way.
