I also teach at a Catholic School and what we lack in resources we make up in creativity. I teach Pre-K and my kids are introduced to the alphabet. Please notice I said introduced... we spend 1 week on each letter. The| consonants only make one sound and the vowel ladies make 2 - one their loud or long sound and then their other sound. After Easter we go back over each letter for another day. This group is pretty bright and I will start word families soon. MY kids only trace over dotted letters, they do not write letters free hand as I think they get into too many bad habits that way. Don't worry you | |
