FYI update

Well, our new friend arrived on Monday. She was a little nervous because she only has a few words of English. The rest of the class was wonderful! They helped her gently and quietly. I had a folder of coloring sheets for
her which she's been doing all week. I stuck to the usual class routine and she was able to flow with it. While the class did language centers, I took her to the library and she looked at the books. We brought several back to class. She loves books! Since she has to sit and listen with the rest of the class for a few good blocks, I let her roam about the room and check things out while the

rest of the class is doing assignments. I think this is best as it allows her to discover her new world on her own and keeps her comfortable and calm. It will require some one on one work to teach her anything and I can't stretch my schedule too much more so I think I'll let her keep up this routine for a while longer.
