Congratulations! Kinders are wonderful, it's great to be one of a child's first teachers...Please write daily with your children, if you need help with specifics; try these authors of professional books on reading and writing: Fountas & Pinnell (Several wonderful books including one on Guided Reading, Interactive Writing, and Word Matters); Lucy Calkins just wrote a book called The Art of Teaching Reading (excellent as well, my friend read nearly a quarter of it on the plane ride home from a literacy conference), Bobbi Fischer wrote one specifically on her years as a K teacher and another on Shared Reading...best of luck to you. I'm headed the other direction-doing a 3/4 next year. ;-D
