nap time
By Kay

Clip to ScrapBook
I am from North Carolina and teach kindergarten to 5 and 6 years olds. Nap time is what the teacher makes it. For me, in the beginning of the year it is a 20-30 rest/sleep time for the students as the become acquainted with the routine of a full day of school. At this time of year I take my clues from the students. Most days we have a quiet time...where children bring books to their resting space, work on our classroom computers, listen to soft music, catch up on work that was not completed, sleep or generally rest quietly. It is important to me for the students to build quiet time into their day as many of them get on a bus for school at 6:45 and don't get home until 4:30 each day! Hope this helps.
