Positive reward system
By Vickie Webster

Clip to ScrapBook
Thanks Leslie your color coded idea has improved my students behavior. I adapted the record keeping by putting a pocket card chart with each kids name and colored cards. I move the front card to the back when they loose
one. I write the date on the front card at the end of each day. I sent a record sheet home at semester time with number of days of each color for the month that I have been doing the program. Last week I added a buy back and reward portion of program. Anyone who looses a card by 10:45 which is recess can buy one card back if they can follow all rules for recess and lunch (about an hour).
It is a big motivator. Also I have a 15 minute reward time at the end of the day where everyone who has green or orange for the day can do something they choose. The class chooses the activity first thing in the AM. They want things like playing in kitchen area, blocks, painting, a cut and glue project, special music at rest time like "Lion KIng". This is fitting in with our schools PBIS plan "Positive Behavior
Something System". Thanks Vickie
